Dusty Fingers is an appreciation and preservation of artistic works long lost to dusty crates and with a dedication to sharing. It is a tribute to the medium, to the artists and to the movement.
Throughout this project I have realized that everyone has their own relationship to vinyl. No one record is the same, nor is its relationship to whom ever it passes. Each record embodies a sense of history; that of its own personal journey through the hands of music lovers as well a reflection of the times it was manifested and pressed into history. From fashion to politics, relationships and culture; from the artwork on its cover to the decks that it has blessed, there is something more to a vinyl record then the sound that it brings. Something beautiful, something timeless.
After countless hours spent digging through record shops, basements and storage units taking thousands of photographs of record covers I have come to the realization that this project will never end. I am an artist, addicted to stories and every record has a story to tell. The record carries a dedication to the arts movement, promoting cross-cultural connections through universal languages of artistic expression.
